Yep, I attended Cannes Film Festival 2013. Don’t hate me too much. I spent most of my time ignoring the beautiful people and sunny weather by sitting in a cold dark room with a bunch of four-eyed strangers.
The celebrity crawl was ridiculous this year. Whatever about Leonardo DiCaprio and Paris Hilton, I actually couldn’t be bothered. I think I must have developed some British sentiments. Uh oh.
My favourite film of the Festival was Blood Ties – mainly because of Mila Kunis, but the whole bromance thing was wildly less conventional than usual. It was refreshing.
Things to note? Alexander Payne released Nebraska, a really endearing film about coming of age. If you’re a fan of him, you’ll love this. If you’re a millennial, well, it’ll try your patience.
And the award for worst Ryan Gosling film to have ever made it to the big screen goes to Only God Forgives. Terrible. I almost fell out of love with the Gos. Almost. That’s seriously bad. I love him trying to cross borders and get a little crazy, but then there’s just bad stuff. And he should have better judgment than this.
